It’s been a week since the U.S. election, and the prospect of Project 2025 is looming–which stands to revoke and remove access to abortion care, enact strict border movements, and rescind a list of human rights intended to kneecap specific marginalized communities. This is horrifying—there’s a likelihood we will see parts of this implemented in the next four years.
I’m not here to ask you not to be nervous about what the leaders of this country intend to allow us to do because the prospect of it is terrifying, especially for so many people we cherish.Â
This document is intended to call you to action and encourage you to be fearless in becoming grounded and actionable for our neighbors and communities.
In the following posts, I’ll explore the esoteric and guide you to ground yourself in your practice. A comprehensive list of Banned books will follow in another post. This work is only the beginning, and sharing the safest access with the knowledge we have will be how we navigate as a collective.Â
This is a living document to assist and support. Check back as needed with frequent updates in services or corresponding information.Â
When the world turns upside down, the call is redirected to communities. I welcome those needing support to find it through the links below, tarot readings, and books. I will do my best to share intersectional and accessible care for various mental, physical, and spiritual needs. Do not feel selfish for prioritizing your health.Â
Now what?
I’m not in the camp of organizing marches to feel like we have some control and say. No friendship bracelets. No hats. The real change comes from how we address people around us who are comfortable maintaining the status quo, which maintains inequity and inequality. The call is to build strength and shed the morals of the institutions that marginalize with ease.
As time marches on and inevitably changes, look for the helpers. Look to them to inform compassionate, actionable change, to help and reduce harm, be curious about the world, and educate yourself when you don’t know something—instead of accepting the answer as the status quo. Does something feel wrong inside of you? Is this going against your most authentic self?Â
Ask yourself how to help without taking over. Follow the trusted leaders and voices of these communities and trust them when their feelings are expressed about how support has been previously given. Take notes and adjust support. This is not the time to point out how great you are for voting for whom you voted. Don’t act safe; be safe by addressing and directing support appropriately and with humility. This is not the time to speak over others; listen and intentionally support.Â
All of our communities need support. This is the time to show what you’re capable of while crafting intentional change.Â
That’s the Spirit
I’d like to offer spiritual guidance now and well into the future. My doors are open to everyone with an open heart, mind, and welcoming spirit. Shadow work is embraced. We always have work to do.Â
Tarot readings help you recognize your power, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and greet any phase of your life with confidence in yourself (and spirit), no matter the circumstances of our universe. We are resilient.Â
We can do anything as a team with a kind heart, recognizing that we’re all imperfect beings who are constantly growing and striving for better for our families and neighbors, even when it feels like the world doesn’t agree. You are influential in enacting change; now is the time to reflect and be introspective.
Change starts at home. Do not wait for others to be the change you want to see (genuinely).Â
You aren’t helpless. Let’s go.Â
Below is a growing, comprehensive list of services, mutual aid, and resources to support various groups. If you don’t know where to start, financial support is excellent before you find a way to volunteer to donate your time. Apply your professional and compassionate skill sets to assisting and uplifting others. What power you have to help (but not take over!) will be your greatest gift.Â
If you have a community organization that belongs on this list, please email TheSiren@sirenbooks.org with information on services available and additional information to share.Â
